Chris Armstrong has been attending the International Online Meeting held in London every December since 1981. The size of the exhibition and the breadth and quality of the content have made this an important event for the information industry.

Since the first Online Meeting, UKOLUG has managed an Exhibition Help Desk and in recent years have been asked by the organisers to judge the Best Exhibitors Stand against strict criteria including stand design, the helpfulness of the staff, and the degree to which it is immediately apparent what it is they sell. It is surprising how some stands fail on this last criteria! UKOLUG has found that a stand at Online is an excellent opportunity to meet members at the same time as providing a helpful service to those who need help finding the right exhibitor or exhibitors, but from 2004 UKOLUG have their own exhibition stand and host some of the presentations on the exhibition floor. The stand presents the new face of the group - now UKeiG or the UK eInformation Group - to its members.
